ON THE RADIO

The Watershed Partnership

Alongside his theatre work, Chris Wallis had been making drama and readings as an independent producer for BBC Radio since leaving Radio 5 in 1995. In 1999 he was joined by Jill Waters and in 2000 they formed an independent radio production company, The Watershed Partnership Ltd of which they are both directors. Chris’s work in theatre and for the BBC and Jill’s experience in publishing and as a producer for the BBC’s Radio Drama department make a great combination.

The Watershed Partnership produces readings, drama and features principally for BBC Radio 4, but also for Radio 3 and the World Service. Recent work includes The Making Of A Marchioness by Frances Hodgson Burnett for Classic Serial with Charles Dance, Joanna David, Miriam Margolyes and Lucy Briers; A Voyage Round My Father by John Mortimer in a special feature-length Saturday Play with Derek Jacobi, Joanna David, Dominic Rowan and Natasha Little; The Alibi by Daphne du Maurier for the Afternoon Play with Michael Maloney and Lia Williams; South Of The River by Blake Morrison for Book At Bedtime read by Douglas Hodge; Salmon Fishing In The Yemen by Paul Torday for Book At Bedtime read by Michael Sheen; Confessions Of A Failed Grown-up by Stephanie Calman for Afternoon Story, read by the author; Not One Of Us by Ali Dizaei for Book Of The Week, read by Paul Bhattacharjee. Forthcoming productions include the controversial new memoir by Gunter Grass and specially commissioned short stories by Julian Barnes, Tom Stoppard and Helen Simpson.
